Virtual Summer Literacy Camp – June 7 through July 16

The Extended Campus Virtual Summer Literacy Camp is an interactive six-week experience where learners will be exposed to a variety of reading opportunities that will also include virtual read-alouds, independent reading time, and fun easy to do crafts with simple household materials. The Literacy Camp model is designed to incorporate not only literacy skills (fluency, comprehension, analysis) but also engagement skills. This fun-filled camp is for learners who are currently enrolled in grades K-5 during the 2020-2021 school year.

Each week of Literacy Camp, teachers will hold two synchronous sessions in Zoom with innovative, fun activities to keep learners engaged in reading throughout the summer. For those who cannot attend live, a recording will be posted. The themes for the program will include topics such as summer, water, rainbows, fireflies, Morse code, the beach, 4th of July, camping, and other fun topics.

Virtual Summer STEM Camp – June 7 through July 16

The Extended Campus Virtual Summer STEM Camp is an interactive six-week experience where learners will be exposed to hands-on STEM activities that will empower learners to build, design, and create on their own using simple household materials. This camp will expose learners to skills for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and math in a fun and engaging setting. Such programs foster valuable 21st-century life skills like problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, and promote practicing math and science skills.
